Home > for younger people
Young People are our future. They also make really valuable contributions to our communities right now. We need to be aware of the varied and changing needs of younger people and this means talking to young people to find out what they want.
Horsham town has a Youth Council (HYPER) and there are youth forums in several villages. Working with West Sussex Youth Service and other partners, various initiatives are being piloted across the District to take services to young people and to involved them in planning
In working to address the issues identified by young people in Horsham District the Community Partnership aims to:
- Enable young people to feel safe and counteract the negative image sometimes portrayed.
- Provide the opportunity to access affordable housing, including starter homes and supported accommodation
- Improve the help, advice and support available to young people
- Ensure health advice and clinics are young people friendly
- Enhance the place of young people in society
The work on these priorities is being progressed through the Young People Theme Group and its Action Plan, supported by the liaison through Horsham Youth Council (HYPER) and other youth forums.
